We are incredibly lucky to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty with some diverse and beautiful nature on our doorstep, to be enjoyed by all ages. The Friends of Limpsfield Common, working together with the National Trust, are the volunteer custodians of this fabulous area in the heart of the Limpsfield Parish, and asked us to pass on these words to you…

To the Community of Limpsfield,

Isn’t it fantastic that we live so close to Limpsfield Common?

We have nature, clear open skies and the gift of flora and fauna on our doorstep.

Over the last year in particular, we have all found solace from getting outside, and enjoying our woodlands, meadows, commons and fields.

Our local Limpsfield Common is 140 hectares of mixed woodland, heathland and field, open 24/7 for free access and enjoyment.

If you are lucky, you may spot roe deer, but you will see and hear the birds, insects and squirrels who share this space with us.

Last year, the Friends of Limpsfield Common undertook a survey. This survey said many fabulous things about Limpsfield Common, in particular how much local people appreciated this local asset. However, there were also many things that local people said which could improve the area.

Over the coming years, we now want to respond to this survey, as well as undertake much delayed conservation works alongside the National Trust.

If you appreciate Limpsfield Common, we hope you will join us and become a Friend of Limpsfield Common.

Membership is only £10 per year, and every penny supports the conservation, care and enjoyment of our local, natural space.
