Detillens Lane and other local residents have funded and planted five trees on Tidy’s Green, on the A25 at the end of Detillens Lane. These are English native trees, three Crab Apples and two Rowan, very good for biodiversity and will make a lovely addition to the space. The Green, a designated "local green space", is owned by Tandridge District Council, and they have given their permission for this project. Thanks to Tom Blackford for leading the project and to Cllr Claire Blackwell for her assistance in making it happen!The residents have agreed to water and look after the trees, and also hope to put a bench there in the near future. @limpsfieldsurrey ...#biodiversity #orchardtrees #trees #limpsfield #localgreenspace #community #communitygardening #oxted #Surrey

There is currently a service outage in some parts of Limpsfield – we think this is due to the theft of a large amount of copper wire (from the phone line system) from Limpsfield Village in the early hours of yesterday / Friday night. Lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves at the first anniversary of the Limpsfield Chart community coffee mornings ☕️🍰The Parish Council is very happy to sponsor such a worthwhile endeavour, which has rapidly increased members, with a lovely mix of local residents who pop along on a Wednesday morning for free coffee, cake and company.Thank you to the Chart Fair committee who organise the coffee mornings and give such a warm welcome to anyone who comes along. Great to see Surrey County Council’s guys out on Limpsfield High Street clearing out the gullies. A common source of dispute between neighbours and complaints to the council is overgrown hedges, bushes or trees obscuring light, overhanging other people’s property, or obstructing the pavement or highway.If any part of your hedge borders a pavement or footpath, it is YOUR responsibility to keep it maintained and trimmed back to the point that it doesn’t encroach over the footpath / pavement / road or obstruct or risk injury to passers by.When to trim hedges: August to March is often the best time to trim your hedges before the birds start to nest and while there are still no new leaves.
