Surrey Highways is proposing to install a new puffin crossing outside Limpsfield Infants School in association with changes to the Eastbound carriageway and junction with Kent Hatch Road.

Details are below. Residents and other interested parties have until February 3rd to comment via the Surrey Highways website or other contact provided below.

This work is with the intention of providing safer crossing for school children and parents/carers, as well as a safer junction with the Kent Hatch Road and consequential slowing down of traffic in this section of the A25.

Notice from Surrey County Council / Highways

Notice is hereby given that Surrey County Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)(A) of the said Act of 1984, propose to upgrade the existing uncontrolled pedestrian crossing to a staggered Puffin crossing along the following lengths of Westerham Road (A25) Limpsfield – 
(a) Westerham Road (A25) Limpsfield, westbound carriageway; the centre line of the crossing will be a point 107m east of the junction with B269 Kent Hatch Road. The crossing will be 3m in length and 4.5m wide, between the studs; 
(b) Westerham Road (A25) Limpsfield, eastbound carriageway; the centre line of the crossing will be a point 88m east of the junction with B269 Kent Hatch Road. The crossing will be 3m in length and 4.7m wide, between the studs.
